Where do dental fears and anxieties originate? For many sufferers, a particularly unpleasant experience in the past might prevent them from wanting to seek dental care. Others may have internalized frightening or intimidating representations of dentists they viewed on television or in the movies. Some people suffer from a general fear of medical procedures and, by association, have come to dread dental procedures as well.

Because they avoid receiving regular dental care, people who are afraid of the dentist tend to have worse oral health than their more relaxed counterparts. When caught in their infancy, most oral health disorders can be treated with minimal discomfort. On the other hand, when left undetected and untreated problems like gingivitis can progress into full blown periodontal disease and patches of demineralized enamel deepen and become cavities. Patients begin to experience chronic pain or sensitivity and a reduced quality of life. Many do not seek treatment until their condition has reached an emergency stage. Unfortunately, seeking emergency care often serves to reinforce a person?s belief that dental care can only ever be painful and traumatic.

Contemporary dentistry sees a patient?s mental wellbeing as an integral part of his or her overall wellbeing. Overcoming a mental hurdle, such as dental fear, allows a person to enjoy better dental health and, consequently, better overall health. To this end, many dentists have begun to incorporate sedation techniques in their practice. Sedation options such as nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation can help anxious and fearful patients feel at ease with their dental care. As Atlanta sedation dentist, Dr. David Zelby, explains, ?Responsible sedation dentistry attempts to locate the appropriate level of relaxation for each patient?s unique needs.?

Each of the most common sedation techniques has its own advantages and applications:

Preparedness Company FirstAidGlobal.com and its online stores PowerSurvival.com and ContagionSurvival.com stand ready to help in the face of a Failing Power Grid. They respond to the news article posted December 12th by Energy Daily, ?US Power Grid Vulnerable to Just About Everything?, where Jen Alic for Oilprice.com describes how the U.S. energy grid is vulnerable to anyone with basic weapons and know-how. According to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, “There are ways that a very few number of actors with very rudimentary equipment could take down large portions of our grid.”

A foreign or domestic terrorist attack on the US power grid could cause massive blackouts for weeks or months at a time, spelling out an “end of days” scenario in which blackouts lead to widespread fear, panic and instability. But as one emergency preparedness company states, many people already seem to know this.

General Manager of First Aid Global in Southern California had this to say, ?Our Company has been in the preparedness business for fifteen years and we?ve come to recognize the threats before they occur, while providing products with some measure of security that consumers can purchase now. Over the last few months we?ve taken hundreds of calls from concerned people looking to acquire Solar Generators that won?t require gasoline as fuel. And, with the coming Mayan Prophecy of December 21st, we?ve hardly been able to keep up with demand. When it comes to our Monster Power Kits, we?re taking orders now for a January delivery.?

But what happens to all the orders if the power fails on December 21st?

The spokesman snickered a bit and added, ?I have it on higher authority that you?ll still be here in January.?

First Aid Global, LLC, http://www.PowerSurvival.com and http://www.ContagionSurvival.com sell online and can be contacted by calling 866-305-1753.

The natural and effective Thermobalancing therapy for prostate enlargement helps its users to avoid aggressive treatment options with the resultant complications, as confirmed by many patient reports. The most recent report, states Fine Treatment, has arrived from Italy in a form of an enquiry: ?I started your treatment seven months ago and for last five months the functionality of my prostate is much improved. I am very grateful. I would like to know what the duration of the Thermobalancing therapy is and do I need to continue to wear the belt??

Contrary to medications and surgeries, Dr. Allen?s therapeutic device helps to relieve the symptoms of enlarged prostate naturally. Dr. Allen?s device for prostate treatment works 24 hours a day and creates an ideal environment for blood to pass through capillaries in the affected prostate tissue. The improved blood flow cleanses the prostate and over time allows the body to repair itself through its own restorative mechanisms. Please watch a short informative video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5xidswhxJM.

?I have stopped the BPH medication two weeks after wearing your belt, nearly seven months ago, and do not have problems in urinating since?, writes Enrico. The advantage and importance of Dr. Allen?s Device working as a stand-alone treatment is that it prevents from sexual dysfunctions common after conventional prostate treatments. It is a serious issue widely discussed in online forums and articles by medical professionals and patients, as it raises anxiety, anger and depression.

According to a Harvard Medical School expert, prostate medications may cause sexual dysfunction. Dr. A. Morgentaler writes: ?There are a number of drugs that may lessen sex drive, including the BPH drugs finasteride (Proscar) and dutasteride (Avodart).?

Prostate surgeries are also risky. For example, one patient says, ?I was misled by my doctor in 2009. Expected one thing and was incontinent 2 years after TURP. No warning from the doctor,? as posted on Men?s-Health Forum on Retrograde Ejaculation after Prostate Surgery. Another warning posted on 12 February 2012 by Roger from Stockholm says: “My misfortune than to put myself into the hands of an urologist 3 years ago left me in very bad shape. Very sad when I think of how this affect on my sexuality.”

?At this very beginning of the New Year, we are pleased to be able to share a successful experience of one of our patients using the Thermobalancing therapy to treat BPH naturally and avoid aggressive prostate treatment options,? says Dr. Simon Allen. “Dr. Allen?s Device for prostate treatment is easy to wear at home, and its use protects men from unnecessary health problems enhancing well-being.”

EvolutionHealth.com is proud to introduce the Bodyslant slant board and Bodylift yoga headstand to give one all the benefits of inversion and reduce the detrimental effects that gravity has on the body.

With the aid of the modern BodyLift yoga headstand prop, one can now experience the benefits of the famous Yoga Headstand (Sirsasana) for yourself safely without straining one’s neck. The BodyLift requires no special strength, balance or agility. One’s shoulders rest on the foam cushion, the head dangles off the floor, and the neck stretches naturally to relieve tension and headaches. This is the original bodylift used by Martha Stewart and featured on the Martha Stewart show several times.

The bodyslant slant boards are available in two sizes: the Newton slant board and the Einstein slant board. These are the original slant boards invented by Larry Jacobs and endorsed by Dr Bernard Jensen. They can convert into different positions including the beneficial slant board position which gives the ideal 30 degree of inversion promoted by Dr Bernard Jensen to an ottoman that blends in with one’s home furniture. In addition to the convertible slant boards, Evolutionhealth.com also has the AirSlant inflatable slant board. This can inflate and deflate easily allowing one to take the slant board anywhere.

The bodyslant slant board provides a safe way to get all the benefits of inversion exercise without the strain on the ankles one might get from an inversion table. It’s especially helpful for those who have had a hip or joint replacement. The gentle inversion of 30 degrees received by the Einstein and Newton bodyslant will still give all the desired benefits of inverting at higher angles given by an inversion table, yoga swing or from doing a yoga headstand. Zero gravity devices such as gravity boots, pelvic racks, inversion swings, inversion tables and other total inversion devices may not be for everyone. Total inversion therapy (90 degree angle) is contraindicated in those with high blood pressure, bone disease, detached retinas, certain esophaugus problems and spinal fusion surgery.

Slanting, however, has been time-proven and tested by countless users of all ages and is generally considered to be a safe, gentle way to relieve gravitational stress and restore physiological balance. Unlike total inversion devices, the bodyslant requires NO RADICAL CHANGE in your body’s postion relative to gravity’s pull, thereby reducing the possibility of sudden stress or discomfort. The moderate elevation of just 14 inches enables the user to obtain maximum results with minimum effort. The bodyslant is portable and easy to use, since it can integrate with existing home furniture and will be more likely used unlike a bulky and heavy inversion table that takes up a lot of space.

Benefits of inversion using the Bodyslant Slant Boards and the Bodylift Yoga Headstand:

Question by ellagirl: Panic attack symptoms that make you feel like you are crazy?
What symptoms of a panic attack cause the sufferer to feel like they are going crazy? I know that lightheadedness, combined with heart palpitations, and nausea can make a panic attack sufferer feel like they are going to die. What is it about a panic attack that can make one feel like they are losing control, or going crazy?

Best answer:

Answer by Shannon
I reckon that it is feeling disconnected from your body. Like your ‘in’ a story and your life isn’t real, but then the panic attack makes you realise that you are real and you are going to die or whatever causes the panic attack is real.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) December 31, 2012

Many questions about mental health disorders and the state of mental health treatment in America are circulating after the devastating massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. Although more and more Americans are seeking treatment for mental health disorders, there are significant obstacles that an individual faces when seeking recovery.

?Mental health treatment is woefully inadequate in America today,? said Ben Brafman, CEO and founder of the Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center. ?There are too many challenges and too few opportunities for those that need help.?

Brafman, with more than twenty years of experience in behavioral health and counseling, has seen more and more clients seeking mental health treatment in the last several years.

?Budget cuts have closed many mental health treatment centers and dramatically reduced the treatment opportunities at others.?

According to patients and mental health counselors, treatment for mental illness is often seen as an acute solution to a chronic problem, an equation that does not work for most patients.

?Most of the time, with a mental health illness, you are sent to a hospital for short term crisis stabilization,? said James, a young man suffering from mental illness whose full name is not being used to protect his privacy. ?So after a few days, you go home and right back to where you were before.”

Specialized, private treatment centers, like the Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center often focus on providing long-term case management and care, treating mental illness with the goal of long-term symptom management and support. For many individuals this can mean the difference between long-term healthy living or a disappointing recovery.

“At Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center, the program I attended was 30 days so I had time to process what had happened and deal with things,” said James. “The fact that the program was longer term meant that I could get over the initial crisis and then process my feelings.?

Public stigma has been one of the most significant challenges for people who suffer from mental health disorders. In fact, many people avoid seeking treatment because they are afraid of what others may say. Although opinions and public feelings have changed towards women who seek mental health treatment, the same is not true for men. Young men, aged 20-35 are particularly vulnerable to mental health disorders, and are the least likely to seek treatment.

?Many men feel that seeking help is not-manly or a sign of weakness,? said Brafman. ?In fact, it is just the opposite.?

The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center treats individuals suffering from a wide variety of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Through specialized treatment programs and long-term case management, clients work with their treatment team to develop a comprehensive plan that has long-term quality of life improvement in mind. The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center treats individuals from all over the country and offers partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient (IOP), and aftercare programming.
