Answer by Pat
sometimes anxiety and stress can cause ulcers in your stomach and also cause sleeping problems as well. this happened to me then the doctor put me on the paxil medication and now i am feeling better. It took 3 years to find my ulcers and stres issues. Now its almost resolved but i have to take the paxil for a long time. i have read paxil is not a good medication but many say it is the best out there and many say its very bad. Time will tell for me.

Question by Babycakes: How do you know if you have anxiety?
Can somebody list the signs & symptoms of anxiety? Like, I worry & freak out & sometimes get stressed about things that probably aren’t true/won’t happen. Is this anxiety, too? I’m 15 by the way.

Everyone has some anxiety. You do not need to worry about it unless it is interfering with your life or causing negative changes in your life. As long as you are getting enough sleep, going to school, and have friends, you’re okay. Just keep in mind: “Do not worry about things that have not happened.” I live by that.

Question by Chris S: What is the difference between a manic phase and an anxiety attack?
when i get an anxiety attack i get extremely keyed up and my thoughts are racing and i get twitchy, what is the difference between that and a manic phase?

Best answer:

Answer by Beccatoots
Manic usually describes someone who suffers from biopolar disorder, where a person goes from manic to depressed very quickly. You may want to go to a physician and see if this is part of your body chemistry because it can be helped with the proper medication.

Anxiety attacks are usually triggered by an event or a circumstance, which causes increased heart rate, sweating, dizziness, shortness of breath. Again, seeing your doctor would be wise so that he/she can recommend some kind of help for you.

Question by cocktail_squid: How do I stop having anxiety attacks while sleeping?
Recently, I have begun to experience anxiety attacks that take place while I’m sleeping. I am not having them during waking hours, and they don’t seem to be inspired by nightmares. I just wake up with my heart racing, my chest tight, feelings of anxiety that force me to fully wake, etc. I have to stay awake for about an hour to feel better before I can go back to sleep. Why is this happening, and what can I do about it?

Best answer:

Answer by Nancy M
In your sub-conscience you are anxious, that is why you are having them while sleeping, I used to stay up for 2 days, so I could sleep with out being woke up with one. I finally got put on medication and rarely do I have one, haven’t had one in over 2 years. Hope it helps.

Question by c.: How long do the symptoms of anxiety attacks usually last?
I went to a concert last night, came home a little shakey and jittery. It was the normal symptoms for an anxiety attack, tightness in chest/throat, shaking, etc. I thought I calmed down, but I just woke up after sleeping for 5 hours, when I usually sleep for like.. about 9, lol. I feel like I’m going to throw up, but not in a sick kind of way, my throat just feels weird. I dealt with these symptoms before, but they usually don’t last overnight for me. I think I’m calm, I’m taking deep breaths and all the other stuff, but it doesn’t seem like it’s helping. Is there anything you can recommend to make these symptoms go away a bit faster?

Best answer:

Answer by mj
This could be something more than an anxiety attack, like perhaps an alergic reaction especially if it happens frequently.

Please see your doctor.

If it is indeed anxiety – try deep breathing while concentrating on a specific thing (sort of like pregnant women breathing during labor and delivery)

Good Luck
